The standard production ALPINA 4.4-litre V8 engine provides the perfect foundation for ultra high-performance club and privateer racing, with 530hp and 725Nm of torque. Especially unique is the fact that this engine, but for it's dry sump lubrication, is directly lifted from ALPINA's high-performance road cars!. Massive air intakes over the entire front of the car ensure that oil, engine and intercooler are fed plenty of air, which then directly exits via the large air vents in the bonnet.

Torque passes through a ZF two-plate sintered metal clutch into a six-speed Xtrac sequential racing gearbox, which is positioned far back in the vehicle via a long transmission housing to improve weight distribution. Shifts are pneumatic via paddles, comfortably actuated at the steering wheel. This Megaline system ensures that downshifts are not realised when revs are too high, preventing a mechanical over-rev of the engine. A Drexler limited-slip-differential takes care of traction. The race engine is fed through an ATL fuel system with 120ltr capacity while exhaust gases are fed through two HJS catalytic convertors fitted with Emitec metal carriers.
